OK. Still seems like it might be possible to set a similar translation routine for US states as for Countries, but I understand that it would get very cumbersome if you tried for the whole world. I’ll go with the default for the states now as it seems more consistent. Thanks for the help.
OK, I’m not quite getting this. It appears you *can* change the country names to abbreviations via translation and your “Translate Countries” feature. So I’m not clear on why the same thing can’t be done for states. If the dropdown is populated with abbreviations for all the states then how would a user enter a full name for the state? Also, it appears the Google Maps API uses abbreviations as well.
I really like that you have the options of what elements to include in the URL, and I’d like to include all of them – for SEO purposes, for URL sharing purposes, and also because it will help me track site usage in a more detailed way in Google Analytics. But when all the elements are spelled out in full the URLs get very long.
Thanks Stiofan. I just got around to testing this and it displays those tags as text rather than rendering them. I was kind of hoping for something that would prevent their entry entirely but I can see that might get very complicated. This should work for my purposes. I appreciate the help.
Well, all I can figure is that this was a caching problem. I spent a LONG time testing this yesterday and was not getting the upgrade link to appear. Just now I refreshed the page and it’s there! So I’m sorry to have taken your time (although it would help if all this was clearly explained in the documentation. It appears, for example, that the “renew” link also shows when a listing is not published, even though it is not expired). And I like your suggestion of changing the language to upgrade/renew. I’ll do that.

FYI, I just realized that the h5 selector in your CSS also removes the “Select Package” heading at the top of the page. I was able to add it back in on the Add Listing page in WP admin and style to match the other headings, so I’m fine, but thought you’d want to make a note of it, and also wanted to alert anyone else who sees this thread.
Sorry for the delay; I just saw this reply (yes, forgot to tick “notify”).
For now I think disallowing from all package descriptions would be fine. Ideally it would just disallow the and
tags so that formatting tags could still be used.
Thanks, that worked!
Well now that you mention it . . .
I can delete the row with this
#geodir_coupon_code_row { display: none; }
but I don’t see a selector that will remove the h5 tag just for the Coupon heading
Guess I was making it too hard. 🙂
Thanks
Yes, that would help. Thanks.
Just wanted to add that I’d like this feature too. Was just searching the forums to see if there is any way to set up an Event that is free if it’s linked to a paid (business) listing.
OK, that’s what I thought. Thanks.
