Ok, clear. Sounds feasible! Thanks!
Ok,
I don’t think I really get your points:
the thing is we hide all GPS-related input, because it causes only confusion: do you know the lat and long of your place of living by heart?
So people (and we also) only use: adres, place, region and zipcode.It’s also difficult to prevent people from pushing a button that’s listed directly under some fields. Is it easily possible you think, to just hide the map and that button on the frontend-add-listing-form?
I just checked your merging suggestion. What I’ve noticed is that we have only a hand full of citys that had double records on 700 citys entered. next to that we had the old friends of ALL/ALL back in the system. Does this make sense to you?
And would it be possible to stop google for giving suggestions for region and place? I think most people enter the city of their place quite well, so suggestions are not really needed. Or would that break other things?
Many questions, thanks again for the wise answers;-)
Ok, we will do this next weekend. Thanks!
By the way: if we auto-update the plugins via the CMS, should we then also first de-activate all wp-related plugins before updating the core, or could we also use the Update-all-at-once-function (don’t know exactly how its named in english, i hope you get what i mean?
Oh Sorry,
They were both private…
But please have a look at that zip-clip (what a nice word;-). As you can see: the system deletes the letters CM every time after I add them.
link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0EN4JpNDKsIf have had several times that this also happens with region and place. it’s like black magic..

Thanks for your suggestion, Paolo,
but unfortunately i don’t see any difference. See image.As you’ve propably have noticed I am not a coder, but maybe you could understand what he’s telling here (see bottom of this post). To me it looks like his solution only works with ‘normal’ comments instead of wpgeo-related comments?… something similar as with posts and wp-custom posts or so?
It could also be that that it works after the user has made his/her comments. Our issue is that we like to offer people a clean frontend-screen; so without the shown HTML-code. For non-technical people that looks quite abracadabra;-)
===
an extract from his code..
// Put the single quotes back in
$comment_to_display = str_replace( ‘'’, “'”, $comment_to_display );return $comment_to_display;
}add_filter( ‘preprocess_comment’, ‘plc_comment_post’, ”, 1);
add_filter( ‘comment_text’, ‘plc_comment_display’, ”, 1);
add_filter( ‘comment_text_rss’, ‘plc_comment_display’, ”, 1);
add_filter( ‘comment_excerpt’, ‘plc_comment_display’, ”, 1);
remove_filter( ‘comment_text’, ‘make_clickable’, 9 );
?>Thanks again!
the one that shows zeroes is live is 138;
the other is staging: 139staging is a copy of live of some days ago; so the content is basically the same, i guess…
Guys,
Is this topic still relevant? We would also like that users can reset their passwords themselves. Now they get a complicated code, or we have to enter a password for them in the CMS, something that unknown people don’t like. Or did we mis something?
Paolo, you mentioned a third party plugin. We are now doing some tests on staging with buddypress, but that doesn’t fix this issue we found out. So: what plugin would you recommend?
Thanks again!
Hey, that’s interesting, thanks!
Does this work for both claim listings as well for messages?Don’t you agree that it would make more sense if this message would be in the same box as where the user was before?
Great advice, thanks!
I Got it:
We only get automatic updates for about half of the plugins. So we manually upload the rest. It appeared that the old version was still installed. After removing that everything was fine…;-)Hi Paolo,
although the idea is interesting, we came to the conclusion that if we would do this, we would have to offer support at least to your level. Unfortunately we’re not capable to do that. Not in aspects of time, nor in technical know-how. The guy that built it is also too lazy (in a positive way, that is;-)
We’ve tried it, but then the image is being squeezed into the textbox itself. Thanks anyway for the suggestion!
Yes, no effect, unfortunately: it generated literally that shortcode: [#user_email#]
Same issue as earlier reported, fixed as well. Thanks!
ok, we’re building a staging environmnet right now. We’ll test it when its working!
thanks!
