Hi Alex..I turn off physical location for my “Recipes” CPT but the search bar is the same of “Places” with geolocation?

I just start with GDV2 but some plugins like Advanced Search and Custom Post Type do not works on installation, make a white blank page on my backend..so I decided to install GDV1.
So if I create an archive page like “places”, or “event”, I add a search bar on it? I just add it like widget in sidebars or on top of results too?
I add a shortcode in my WP page but sorting options dropdown do not appear.
So if I set “featured” default sorting options my results will be always sorted by distance too, right?
