We actually ended up getting both parts of this resolved also. It was just a default WordPress caching issue, and I still don’t honestly know what caused the redirect, but it has been resolved.
I’m not sure if it is related, but it is mainly our homepage https://county10.com. We publish new posts and they don’t show up unless the user manually clears their browser cache. We’ve also ended up having the /events page redirect come back, so I have no clue what’s happening anymore.
It was a problem with WP Super Cache. I still don’t know what exactly caused it, but deactivating the plugin fixed it. We are still having issues with site content updating properly since removing the cache plugin though
We ended up getting this problem resolved!
Naveen,
We have checked everything on the server-side and haven’t found anything. The Header request indicates that it is coming from WordPress or one of its plugins.
Kor,
We did not delete the event page. The URL county10.com/events is what is set for the event archive URL. However, it seems there is a redirect setup on that url that goes to the homepage. However, it isn’t in our redirection plugin, nor can we find it in htaccess. But it has to be somewhere, right?Guust,
We figured if we changed the CPT slug it would probably fix it, and we can do that as a worst case scenario, but we would prefer to keep it events and try to fix the issue.I found out it is doing this because of a 301 redirect, but I can’t find where the redirect is or what is causing it. I’ve disabled a bunch of plugins, I’ve cleared caches. It may have nothing to do with the Events plugin, or it might. I don’t know. You’ll have to let me know if this is even in your area.

Perfect. Thank you. I’m hoping to make some slight adjustments to the way Event schema is mapped to adjust to some of our custom fields, and with this as a template I might be able to figure it out.
Kiran,
That looks good. Could you share what snippet you used and where so I can do that on my own for future schema adjustments?

For example, we would like to have search pages for some CPT searches to have a sidebar, and other ones to not, but without a separate search result template, I can’t think of any way to make that change.
