Hi Kiran, sorry for being such a dummy but how/where do I add this to the website? Thanks Greg
This reply has been marked as private. Thanks for the reply.
What I am hoping to do is hide “Accommodation” (but not “destinations”) from this map/page: http://wind-hounds.com/
AND
hide “Destinations” (but not “Accommodation”) from this page: http://wind-hounds.com/destinations/fuerteventura/sotavento/
Is this possible?
Thanks
GregHi Core, that definitely fixed the default display.
Is there another snippet of CSS that will make the options appear in a drop-down over the top instead of inside the box (see pic).
Thanks for this
Greg
This reply has been marked as private.Hi Alex, I appreciate you support however I am struggling to know how to make this any clearer as to what my issue is.
I have attached a word doc to try and explain it better.
I would be more than happy for you to edit the CSS (which is in Custom CSS & JS plugin titled “Search Bar”).
Again thanks for you assistance on this.
Greg
Hi Alex, no, I want the “category” and “CPT” fields to show on initial page load as a text box (but at present it shows as plain text).
Did you click on the link to or home page and then select the destination field to see what I am referring to?
Hi Alex, I removed the styles and this is what I got (attached)…which is nothing like what I am after.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Greg
Hi Alex, no it is the same CPT.
Please open this page and then click on the “Destination” link and you will see what I am talking about: http://wind-hounds.com/
Thanks
Greg
Hi Alex, here are the images attached again.
By default I see image 1
If I then select a CPT under destinations it then give me the image #2.
Is there a way to default to image 2 in the first instance?
Hi Alex, thanks for this; this answers the first part of my question however how do I set the default to show a “select” field as opposed to “text”? See my images attached from last contact.
Thanks
Greg
Thanks this Alex!
I have another question; when I first open the main page, the search bar just has text for the search elements (see image 1 attached).
However, if I select destination from the drop-down, I then get a different view with text field boxes.
Is there a way to open the search bar so we always see it with the text field boxes as in image 2?
Thanks again
GregHi Kor, that is a shame as this would have made for a great solution 🙁
Couple of questions:
1. Is this likely to be a future release?
2. Is this something you think I could get a developer to customize?
3. Is there some way of having the advanced search bar closed on the home page but have it open on the search results page?
Or have the search bar minimized on the home page and as soon as they select a CPT it them opens the advanced search bar? Thanks for your help
Greg
Oh no, I think I have miss-understood how this works!
I thought you could create a custom select field, give it a range of options and then be able to select several of these options for a place so if someone chooses one of those options that is selected for the place it would then appear in the search results.
However now that you have this test one running it seems that it is a one-for-one selection only.
So for example, what I am trying to do is go to a destination, put in the all months that it is a good time to travel there and if a user selects a month that is relevant in the front end for that destination, it appears in the search results.
But it seems I can only select a single month as being applicable to the destination?
Can you please clarify this?
Thanks
Greg
Hi Alex, thanks for this, I have worked this out now and feel like a dummy as I was not reading the instructions correctly.
So ignore this, I can now add to the search bar…but please see my next comment….
