Hi
I now have a working install YAY!!
Onto the SEO parts of the project when i filter by the breadcrumbs to a specific area or region or country for example
http://parlour.thetattooforum.com/places/united-kingdom/west-midlands/walsall
or
http://parlour.thetattooforum.com/places/united-kingdom/west-midlands/i want to add custom content onto that page. am a bit unsure how i would go about this.
how have people done this before?
Or would it be best to create the pages myself and add a shortcode that delivers the listings onto that page for the desired area?
I was considering using wpallimport to create all of the landing pages i needed and include the listings based on a shortcode that way. but if there is an alternative i would like to see that first. im also concerned that i would be creating duplicated content if i have both the breadcrumbs going to one listing for walsall plus a seperate landing page for walsall with the same listings.
Thanks in advance for your replies
July 17, 2015 at 9:32 pm #46092Hi,
for each location you can add custom content in GeoDirectory >> Multilocation >> Manage location >> edit
You have to text box : City Meta and City Description.
For region and countries these boxes are in GeoDirectory >> Multilocation >> SEO Settings
Whatever you input in the City Description will be disaplyed by the GD > Location Description widget that you can place anywhere in the Home widget areas.
Otherwise you can customize the home/location templates, but that require some coding skills.
The location page is totally made with custom templates, so any attempt to add content in any other way is not possible.
Thanks

July 20, 2015 at 6:48 pm #46276At the moment you can bulk import/export categories and listings only.
Thanks
July 28, 2015 at 1:02 pm #47241hi
what is the best hook for the location info?
I want to add some additional fields for more data that i can pull into the pages.
plan is to add a before content field an after content field then modify the widget to be able to pull these in or change / hook into the template to pull in that data and display it on the relevant pages.
Looking for hook advice basically both front end and backend
thanks

https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-widgets/#descJuly 30, 2015 at 1:27 pm #47520hi
almost. it has 2 of the things i want. essentially i want to try and extend this widget so i can choose form some additional content for each location.
Perfect outcome would be control of
Title of page
content type 1 before listings (current description widget output is fine)
content type 2 additional description which i want to put under the listings on the page.so its adding two more bits of data for each of the locations in the db and then ahve the widget able to choose any of the two on page types of content from either a dropdown or maybe a tickbox
would also mean i could put the additional info in a sidebar etc if i wanted to.And the title control is pretty important to me as i really want to be able to control the output of the title on every page possible. I know i can do this with yoast to a certain extent on some pages but i would like proper control on the directory pages.
July 30, 2015 at 8:45 pm #47575Hi,
that would require a major customization.
Thanks
