    Hi,
    1) I have the advanced search add-on, but it doesn’t appear to be working correctly. i.e. For Events, readers can search for: type of event; date; search for; and near.
If I select a type of event – say “special events” as shown in the screenshot attached – and leave the other search fields blank, the result is “No listings found which match your selection” even though there are two events listed under Special events (as you can see in the “popular categories” bar and also in my second screenshot).
Why is this happening? Your help is much appreciated.

    2) Under geodirectoy/design/listings/add listing form settings it asks “Show event ‘registration description’ field as editor”. What does this mean please?

3)In the reviews section. Person A writes a comment. Person B hits “reply” and responds to Person A’s comment. How is Person A notified that their comment has been replied to? I’ve done some tests and it doesn’t look like they get emailed. Is that right? Is there a way that can be rectified?

If you need login details, I am very happy to provide them.
    Thank you
    Katie

    1. This could be because the event is in a subcategory only, without being in the parent category.

    2. That setting enables a rich text editor for the “registration description” custom field, so users have more control over the content of that field when submitting a listing.

    3. WP or GD does not provide this feature to notify comment owner on reply, but there are some plugins available for this that may suit.

    Thanks

    1. Don’t use “select” but use “multiselect” or “ajax chained” at GD > Event settings > category custom field.

    2. Search results are always ordered by relevance to the visitor’s search criteria. You can sort listings for the category/Listings pages, and if you do not apply any custom sort at GD > Event settings > sorting options, then listings will automatically be ordered by date of the event.

    3. You need to select at least one price package in the custom field settings if you want users to be able to add the data.

    1. You need to go back to the event and re-do the categories, so it adds it to the parent and child category. You may have to adjust your price packages.

    2. “if you do not apply any custom sort at GD > Event settings > sorting options, then listings will automatically be ordered by date of the event.”
So I deleted the custom sort, so please check now.
“Add date” means “date listing was added”, not “date of the event”.

    3. Sorry, but they are not, see images.
You need to highlight the fields or package you want.

    Thanks

Thanks for looking into all of those things and explaining them again – there seems to be multiple places to tick certain things and it gets confusing. Appreciate you helping me out with it all. Katie
