Best of Widget/Categories

According to the documentation, I should be able to choose the number posts and categories to display, but is there a way for me designate which one specifically if I choose just one? I have pages dedicated to a few main categories and would like the widget to just show that page’s particular category in the best of tab dropdown, if possible. If not, preferably to be able to change the order so it defaults accordingly on each page (again, if possible).

Hi James,

The “GD best of widget” will only allow you to choose which CPT to display. The categories in the CPT that has got the most reviews will be displayed first and if not, it will be displayed randomly. I hope this clears it up. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#bestofwidget

Hi Kor,

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. The note in the documentation might need some clarification, though, as it says the listings would be sorted by ratings, not the categories themselves. Therefore, I’m assuming, when I select to show just one category, it’s defaulting to the category which has the most individual listings reviewed, correct?

It is supposed to order categories by those with most listings with most reviews.
