Hi, is there any way to update the categories icon and default image?
I have 200 categories and all have the same icon and default image. Is there any bulk tool available or change it in phpmyadmin?Alternatively, there is a field in ‘wp_options’ table: ‘geodir_default_marker_icon’=http://wpgeo.directory/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-functions/map-functions/icons/pin.png
Can I change this default icon to my own to assign it to all my 200 categories?Alternatively, is there any way to use the GD-friendly Fontawesome icons like it is advertised: ‘- Fontawesome integration to take advantage of their great vectorial icons’ by Paolo in https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/update-june-13th/#post-4186
June 23, 2014 at 5:10 am #5621Hi,

June 23, 2014 at 11:25 pm #5798Hi,
just FYI, fontawseome can be used with custom fields, not in google maps. In google maps you can only use png images for now. FOntawesome is not supported.
We are looking into other solution for vectorial google maps markers, but at the moment only images can be used.
Thx
June 24, 2014 at 2:22 pm #5900Hi, I have updated the ‘geodir_default_marker_icon’ in ‘wp_options’ to a new link with PNG map/category marker. Unfortunately nothing has changed. My 200 categories are still not showing any icon. So the listings are not shown or tied to the map location. Is there anything else I can change? Please advise.
June 24, 2014 at 8:36 pm #5955Do you know any quick way to assign a same default icon (map marker) to 200 Place Categories instead of doing it manually one by one? Unfortunately, changing the ‘geodir_default_marker_icon’ in ‘wp_options’ does not help. Maybe you can suggest some plugin like BulkPress but with icon import functionality? Thanks.

June 26, 2014 at 12:58 pm #6250Hi, Vikas, any news on this issue?
June 26, 2014 at 1:07 pm #6253Hi,
I have fixed this and it will be there in today’s release.
June 27, 2014 at 2:47 pm #6491Hello, I have updated the core to 1.1.5 and all add-ons to current versions. Unfortunately:
1. Same issue – with place categories marker. New listing does not show on the map if the marker/icon was not set beforehand in the backend place categories, i.e. wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=gd_placecategory&post_type=gd_place. The problem is that I need to upload 200 same markers to my 200 categories. What would you recommend to bulk upload the same marker/icon to different categories?
2. New issue – on the Add Listing page after I typed the street address, and clicked Set Address on Map button, the house number in address line is truncated. It kept truncated after saving the listing.
Please advise.July 5, 2014 at 11:35 am #7527Hi Pix3x,
Just to let you know so you don’t spend hours going through your site changing all the category images and still have the same problem.
I have flagged this problem 6 weeks ago – My site is live so you can imagine I have tried everything from changing the backend pin.png via sftp, to changing every category icon – I then tried a different icon for every category.
Everything is fine on new listings.
The only way I have found to fix things is re-save every place that has the wrong or missing icon, this error must have happened when I uploaded the csv.
The problem I have is that I have 6k listings live of which 5.5k have a missing or incorrect pin.
You cannot bulk save them either…
Hopefully an answer comes soon.
Dave
