Category descriptions disappeared

    Hi there

    I’ve been setting up my categories as per your instructions. After saving the top description, I unchecked the option to use it for all locations and entered a description for region top. I inserted a gallery into the description. Once I saved it, the description disappears in the admin area… It’s happened twice now. I tried adding the city top description at the same time and that disappeared as well. Any idea why that is?

    Thanks for your post. Sorry, I’m not getting this without checking your Website backend. Could you share your Website WP admin access here in private reply? Then, list the steps to replicate it and we’ll troubleshoot this further for you.

    the patch is inside the location manager addon. which will be released in the upcoming version.

    but based on the issue. I have applied it to your site.

    Thanks so much Naveen! The descriptions save now. Where can I see the descriptions on the front end? I’ve added [gd_category_description] to the gd details, gd archive & gd archive item pages but when I search for accommodation in Brisbane, Qld it doesn’t display… (That is the only category location details I have setup so far). I also tried adding a location description and category description to gd bottom but it still doesn’t display. Am I missing something else?

    Thanks Kiran. Sorry to be pesky, but is there a way for me to see the city description for Brisbane and region description for Queensland? I want to see how it displays so I can continue with the other categories and cities etc. All that is showing on that archives page is the default description…

    Hi Eva,

    Location description (country/region/city/neighbourhood) displayed via Location Description widget/shortcode on pages where location is set in url.

    On which pages do you want that description? Or do you want different category description on different city/region?

    Hi Eva,

    Use location description widget/shortcode on GeoDirectory > Settings > Pages >
    location page content.

    Thanks Kiran! I finally see it now. I actually wasn’t going to the right place to see it. I had to click on the category icon on the locations page 🙂
