    Hi guys,

Is there a way to change the text for the ‘my account’ nav menu item on the supreme directory theme so that it reads ‘login/register’ instead of ‘my account’ when a user is not logged in, but remains as ‘my account’ once they’re logged in?

    Cheers,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

You can use the translation method to chnage that and here is the section of the documentation for your reference https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-themes/

    Thanks

    Thanks! Two quick questions though:

    1. If I make translation changes as you recommend, will those changes be protected when the theme is automatically updated? (I’m using the supreme directory theme, which I believe is already a child theme?)

    2. How do I make it so that the text displayed is conditional on whether a user is logged in or out? I use S2member to control roles and capabilities if that is of any help. Because I want it to say ‘My account’ when a user is logged in, but ‘register/login’ when a user is logged out.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Andrew, Hello Kor,

The last question (I want it to say ‘My account’ when a user is logged in, but ‘register/login’ when a user is logged out.) was very important to ask, because I need such solution too.

Did you get any response or solution?

    Please share

    Hi Murphy,

I don’t think that’s possible without customization. But I’ll transfer this to a developer for a second opinion.

    Thanks!

    Hi Murphy,

For your first question, the translation files are not kept inside the child theme but instead, it should be inside ” /wp-content/languages/plugins/ ” folder. So, any updates to the child theme will not affect it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,

Thanks for this. I was meaning to follow up on it but I got distracted by other issues. No worries if it requires customisation. I’m currently compiling a list of things to ask a developer to help me with.
