Need to change the label on the add listing. Currently it says “Dentist Title”. I’m assuming I have to do the PO edit thing again and if so which file? Screenshot shows as is right now.

I believe that would be in the Geodirectory core file.

I looked in that file and didn’t find it but it’s hard to find the appropriate strings in this file to edit. Will look again.

When you open the language file with your PO editor, just do a search for the text string you are looking for.

Exactly what I did. Actually did it a couple of differnt ways. I searched for “dentist title” and it came back with zero results. Then searched for just “Title” and came back with a variety of results but it’s problematic to know which is the right one to change. Would it be places title?

I’m pretty sure it is. You can make the changes, upload to your files and refresh your page to see the edits. 🙂

Throwing my hands up. Can’t find. Made changes nothing is rolling out. The process is simple once you find the string but finding the string can be problematic – to have to spend so much time to make a minor change is very frustrating and then not to be able to find it is doubly frustrating.

Shucks, I’m sorry. I was focused on the topic of your thread, “Changing Field Title for Add Listing”.

Head into your Geodirectory settings and follow this path:

GeoDirectory > Custom Post Types then “Edit” on your Dentist post type.

Under the “Advanced” tab you should find the fields you are trying to edit. This should take care of the this.

So sorry! At least you got some experience with the PO files. 😉

Also, just as a disclosure, this is nothing on the GD team. I’m just a regular user, helping when I can.

I looked there already and it’s not there either.

BTW you’ve been awesome. The PO Edit process is easy and yes I’ve gotten some experience. I just need this to say Dentist’s Name

Do you have or plan to use more than one CPT? I found this:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/change-title-and-description-labels/

If this doesn’t work for you…then I think we may have hit a wall. You’ll have to sit tight for someone from the team to respond or you can try to search the forum. There are about 50 pages of topics that come up that may or may not be relevant:

Thanks for not being mad at me. 😀

That did the trick. Hip, Hip, Horray % Title is the one in the language file for anyone else looking here. Thanks for your awesome generous help.
