Claim listing vs back-end: When does the timer start?

    I want to create the listings of the various businesses in my area. Essentially I just want to create the listing with the name and location only. Then, when the owner claims it, they can enter the various details.

    I only have one price package available that runs for 365 days. My question is: When does the timer start? Does it start when the owner claims it? Or does it start when I create it on the backend? So, if an owner claims a business that was created (by me, on the backend) 6 months ago, do they still get a full year?

    Claiming only changes the “owner” of the listing, nothing else.
    So there will be no extra time added, unless the “owner” renews the listing.

    If you want them to give 365 days from starting, create a new package that is the same as the current one you have, and set the claim settings to force an upgrade. That means that when they claim, they need to select the new package and will get their 365 days.

    So if I understand this right, I should have Price: Backend-$0.00 and Price: Front-End $49.

    When I create a listing on the backend, I use the $0.00 price, and when an owner claims it, they will upgrade to the $49 option?

    Correct, and set the claim settings to force an upgrade, or they can claim and stay on the free package.
    You may also want to hide the free package as a choice from the frontend with CSS, depending on what you want.
