Hi,
I’m giving it a new start on a support topic that didn’t satisfy me:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/facebook-iamge-used-instead-of-buddypress-extended-profile-image/
I think switching the theme is the wrong topic here. I tried to preview with twentysixteen, but the content of the directory doesn’t even display anything below the featured image.
Kleo is a pretty standard theme, they even support GD out-of-the-box, so there is no reason for this not to work with Kleo.
Could you please take a second look at the issue ? We have a user who’s buddypress profile uses one picture (user uploaded it in buddypress) that can be seen here: https://www.arbolife.com/fr/communaute/membres/evora-dupre/
Now GD displays the user who claimed this listing with another picture (the one from their facebook profile) as seen here: https://www.arbolife.com/fr/restaurants/switzerland/geneve/geneve/alive/
It may be so, that on other themes not using Facebook logins, that the
get_avatar
and
bp_core_fetch_avatar
load the same image. It just happens to bring different results when using Kleo and Facebook login… and a user overwrites their facebook image with a new one in BuddyPress. I don’t think that switching theme or disabling the Facebook login functionality is the right answer to this.
So back to my question I asked after reading the content from the link you provided:
Given that GD is BuddyPress compatible, is there a good reason why you use
get_avatar
instead of
bp_core_fetch_avatar
? And if this won’t change, how would I go about changing this behaviour on our site ?
Best,
Marc
