Convert Tags -> Categories

    Trying to wrap my head around the Tags and Categories in GD.

    I used to have a legacy site before starting my conversion to GD that used a custom post type (Lets just say Campsites) but two Taxonomies associated to it.

    The first one – would be the “Type” (ie Campsite, Park, Field, Someones Lawn), and then followed by the Amenities (Shower, Water, Internet, and so on). I’m trying to not modify the core of GD too much and looking to find a way where I can convert the “tags” to a selectable set of checkboxes, and can’t be added onto unless by an administrator. I seem to recall in a Custom Post Type Environment that it would be called “hiearchial” but it has been quite some time.

    Has anyone encountered this type of setup before?
