Is there a way that I can create a page say “Attorneys in Portland, Oregon” and that page only list attorneys in that city. Or is there already a plugin that does this? The last time I allowed the region and city slugs if you took away the place page there would be no results. Example: webpage.com/places/oregon/portland/attorneys – No information found.
August 31, 2018 at 11:14 pm #444898That it is how it works by default.
Make sure to add the location switcher: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/multilocations/#main
Or add this shortcode to a normal page:
[gd_location_switcher]https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/location-manager-shortcodes/#switch
That will allow you to navigate to the Portland page.
Add a popular category widget to the GD Home/Location page:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#popular-post-catAnd you will have links to your Attorney category on the Portland page.
See the demo at https://wpgeo.directory/docs/
City location page: https://wpgeo.directory/docs/location/united-states/california/los-angeles/
Category in that location: https://wpgeo.directory/docs/places/united-states/california/los-angeles/restaurants/If we need to check your settings, post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply
ThanksAugust 31, 2018 at 11:27 pm #444901Thank you.
Is it possible to do a similar function with neighborhoods? I’ve currently changed the permalink structure and don’t want to add it back to include united-states/oregon/portland as it unnecessarily long.
September 1, 2018 at 12:16 am #444911It works exactly the same for neighborhoods.
https://wpgeo.directory/docs/location/united-states/pennsylvania/philadelphia/center-city/The permalink structure is for the detail pages only, not for Listings or Location pages.
Thanks

Could I get some help to make a page that can be reached for cities I have without changing my permalink structure? I must not be doing something right.

If you want to use neighborhood pages, you need to enable them at GD > Multilocations > Wish to enable neighbourhoods ? YES

the URL structure for listing pages like that is:
cpt/location/category
an example is /attorney/atlanta/criminal-defense-lawyer/
These are easier to find if you include the location in the URL for the detail page at:
GeoDirectory – Permalinks
