CSV File misenterpreted

    so to clarify i upload the exported csv with the missing data from the original added using the “Update item if item with cat_id/cat_slug already exists” options and this should correct the errors and create the correct parents with categories matching.
    I am presuming that all of the settings etc are correct.

    I will do this first thing in morning as it is 8.50pm here.
    I will let you know.

    Yes, choose update if exists so that cats with an id will be updated.
    The exported file is THE format. We have a walkthrough here for a recommended process. It is for listings but applies equally to categories.

    Hi Alex
    Parents still not coming up. Please see export attached.
    Should i delete all imported and start again. Then upload csv with parents and no categories to then upload categories matching the parents and see if that will work.

    Hi Alex
    I have deleted all 88 pages. Each time I uploaded the option to replace it didn’t recognise that command.
    I have uploaded a csv with the parent categories detailed in the category list and left the parent column blank.
    This has given me my parent categories. I am going to input each individual category now.

    I will be uploading the business listings in the csv.
    There are thousands to add i cant possible add each of those individually. Can you look in to my system, the bug or whatever to see if there is anything I need to do to make the csv upload work. I don’t have a great deal of confidence at the moment. Once up and running the listings will be added individually and this wont be a concern.

    I am not sure I understand the issue you are reporting at this time and I cannot login to the site, getting an error with the credentials you gave.

    I have tested this myself with importing new parent child categories on 20045 and I don’t see any issues with simply adding new categories or adjusting the name, for example, of an existing category and updating that with the import.

    Can you say the exact issue and how we can recreate it?

    As stated in email dated 7th February, that I had concerns there would be problems uploading the csv files to add business listings in consideration of problems I had uploading the categories.

    I have uploaded the attached csv file.
    Only 2 of the 6 listings have added.
    The address didn’t auto fill on either.
    the CTP Fields are nowhere to be seen.
    Images have not uploaded and they have been added to the Year,Month folder and named appropriately.

    When i try to add the listings individually the CPT Fields are not there either nor is telephone, email, website, social media.
    Please advise.

    checked the uploads, address fields are missing. Post content has ? input in data.

    Hi
    How are we getting on with this?
    I have tried to upload a small number of lines as a csv. The data isn’t going in to the fields and the categories are self selecting based on the default.

    For example, i have input the default. i have then input the actual category of that parent type. the system is adding the default and then adding randoms options within that parent list.

    Same with other CPT Fields.
