Glad to help 😀
January 10, 2016 at 2:53 pm #67714Having major issues importing. Had problem with openoffice and switched to Google sheets. I have imported categories OK but cannot import places due to giving me address errors.
I have used the bulk GPS service advised and downloaded the existing data and checked every field and input on the test 9 records created and it just doesnt work??
I would like to buy add ons and use this for quite a few sites but this is starting to put me off so really need some help please?
Not sure if you have my email, it’s [email protected]
Thanks
Joel
January 10, 2016 at 3:24 pm #67716Hi Charlie,
Just done this myself so here might be able to help with the csv getting messed up.
The csv must be delimited by quotes and commas so you need to replace any commas in your descriptions with , (to stop them messing up the csv on import) then use a wordpress MYSQL search and replace plugin to change them back after import (because html entities are not decoded on the map popups).
January 10, 2016 at 3:43 pm #67718Hi
Thanks, I did have some commas in the content field but all have been removed and I am still getting the same error.
9 / 9 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).
I have used the resources for address and downloaded manually added records and used this as a template so how come this still doesnt work??
January 10, 2016 at 4:23 pm #67720What a shame, a great plugin that I would love to use on my 45 websites but a ridiculous error like this? Why has there not been an option installed to remove the functionality on import of the long/lat and make this more user friendly? I have seen lots of complaints about this on these threads?
I would love to use this as its the best I have seen but I have over 1 million records to import across 45 sites so unless this can be changed or you have contact details of a specialist GD developer that can resolve this I wont be able to use GD?
Kind regards
Joel
January 11, 2016 at 7:34 pm #67901Hi,
commas in descriptions are not problem at all.
If you need to do that, your are doing something else wrong.
If you use openoffice and set the right data separators and delimiters, it will not consider commas in a cell as a delimiter.
Thank you
February 2, 2016 at 12:42 am #115380I have spent over 3 hours trying to get less than 100 places with 21 categories imported. I have not had an ounce of success. Joel is right. It should NOT be this hard. I am working with a raw text editor (BBEdit), and still cannot get a single import to work. I have messed with file encoding, line endings and everything else I could think of that would cause errors. Maybe if the error descriptions actually fit the error, it would be different.
February 2, 2016 at 1:44 am #115419Hi,
please provide a CSV file that you are trying to import, a link, admin credentials and we will check what’s wrong.
I asked to the developers to follow up.
Thanks

You CSV does not contain a title row so the system does not know what order to expect things, please look at the sample CSV under import/export for the correct headings to use (order does not matter)
Thanks,
Stiofan
February 2, 2016 at 5:03 pm #115784I have tried it with and without the header. I just did again (with the header) and got the same error.
Total 89 item(s) found.
89 / 89 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).
89 / 89 item(s) could not be added due to blank title/invalid post type. The address fields are all filled-in.
The titles and post types are also all filled in.February 2, 2016 at 5:15 pm #115786please provide me with the exact one with the header so i can test and let u know the problem.
