If I go to my directory home page (findafitter.bike) I get the pop up request to geolocate near me.
When I OK that, I’m now getting a 404 page error and the url shows findafitter.bike/me
What’s going on? Is this /me page a standard geodirectory page related to geolocating near me?
    Why the page error?
I have all the relevant google api’s enabled in my google developer console.
    Thanks

    Hi John,

I’d like you to know that you need a secure site for geolocation to work in every browser:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/adding-a-ssl-certificate-to-your-website/

    Thanks!

It is a https site with a ssl certificate, and has been from the outset.

    Hi John,

Sorry about that, probably I visited the wrong link which broke the SSL. I’ve just checked your Website again and the “Near me” geolocation seems to be working fine on my end even after accepting the pop up request. Here’s the screenshot for our reference http://prntscr.com/cc5xz2 . Could you try clearing your browser cache? Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks!

It had been working fine, and then started giving this error. I’m digging into cpanel and the SSL manager and I may have an issue there.
Attached is the screenshot I get, after allowing geolocation and then clicking NEAR. Initially I get a map page for about half a second and then it closes and changes to this screen. Do you think this is a SSL certificate issue?

The URL is wrong, it should be yoursite.com/location/me

    The location part is missing.

Please provide admin credentials in a private reply and we will have a look.

    Thanks

    Hi John,

in your GD >> Permalinks, there was no location page assigned. I created one and assign it there.

Please test now and remember not to delete the plugin’s pages.

    Thanks

Thank you. Issue resolved. I did not delete (knowingly) any plugin pages, so still a bit mystified as to what triggered the problem, but thanks for finding the problem.

Sometimes users delete the location page not knowing it was created by the plugin.

We even created a utility in GD Tools to check for the GD pages and fix them if one or more are missing.

    Thanks 🙂
