    Hi,

I have just on CPT with one Category. I think we can’t get rid of having at least one category, but it’s confusing for the user when he’s adding the listing to have to select that.

Is there any way to disable categories or at least make it kind of always default so that the users don’t see/manage them?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

Just had a look at the definition of my CPT and under the “Field: Category (Taxonomy)” settings (which is in by default), I selected “Is Active” I selected “No”.

This removed the “Select category” option in the “Add Listing” page. Is this ok? Is there any problem setting the Category as Inactive? I really don’t care about categories as I just have and will have that one.

    Cheers!

No, that is not ok and it’s an option that will be fixed in next release. 1 category at least is mandatory for each listings.

It is better if you check the topic I linked which explain how to auto select the category with jQuery and hide the field with css.

    Thanks

Ok… I’ll display it as a radio button and auto check it, but it isn’t a completely nice solution.

I hope you give it some thought about adding an option to auto assign a category to CPT entries when there is just one category, so that we don’t have to rely on this kind of fixes.

I don’t mean to be rude, I just report from “the other side” ;).

Thank you for your hard work. Cheers!

    Hi,

I don’t mean to be rude too, but we can’t add options for every single possible use of the plugin. it would make the plugin super heavy…

Things like this must be done via code as customization.

    Thanks
