    Hi Guys,

Im new to GeoDirectory and Im really struggling to get a good feel for how all the various addons work together. I appreciate teh complexity of the code but as a former IT trainer I’m finding the documentation very disjointed. I also find myself looking at screen shots that bear little resemblance to what I have. Are there any case studies were the setup is explained step by step or is the documentation section on the site it.

The above is not a rant, rather I want to ensure I’m not missing an easier way to understand how it all fits together. An example would be me trying to create an item in Invoicing. I cant see how I assign a package to a place or an event. Its these small things that seem to take an age to locate.

Any resource I’m missing would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jon

    Hello,

    GDV2 docs are here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/

If you accidentally ended up on our V1 docs, yes, the interface has changed completely.

Invoicing is a separate plugin, and docs can be found here: https://wpinvoicing.com/docs/

For a ‘reference’ setup I would recommend you try installing either Supreme or Whoop, our free themes, and then running the setup wizard. That will give you the option to automatically setup menus, widgets and more. If you also choose the option for default content during the setup wizard, then it will give you a very good idea of how things can be setup.

Packages are created with the Payment Manager addon for GD. Once the addon is setup and packages are created, you can then edit a listing and assign a package to the listing.

Alex, thanks a million for this, big help. Can I setup a sub domain to reinstall to as you suggest. Would this be a problem with Licenses?

    You’re welcome

Your license determines how many sites you can setup for automatic updates. As long as you leave your main site licensed it should be ok at your main site.
