    Hi,

I’m working on setting up my new site and I cannot get the Dummy Data to install. I click on the button but nothing happens.

Can someone please take a look and see what the cause is?

    Thank you,
    Robert

I’m having the same problem. It says it’s installed dummy data and dummy event data but there’s nothing but blank content on my site

    Hi Robert,

there is a big error in your default location. Lat and lon should be numberic decimal figure, not this:

    77.0369° W / 38.9072° N

Edit the default location by addding a 0 (zero) instead of those faulty value and save.

After that, please click the set address on map button.

That will fetch the correct lat and lon and will make GeoDirectory work correctly.

@Joanna I can’t tell if your problem is the same unless you provide a link and admin credentials.

    Thanks

    Hi Paolo,

I put a “0” in both Long. & Lat. fields, saved it and then “Set City on Map” button and got this error:

    Oops! Something went wrong.
This page didn’t load Google Maps correctly. See the JavaScript console for technical details.

I’m confused on this. Please explain in more layman terms.

    Thank you,
    Robert

    Hi,

now it is not working, because it appears that the API key is not correct.

Did you follow this to create it? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/add-google-api-key/

If you used a key for another website, you’ll need to add the new domain too in the Key settings, or it will only accept requests from the other website.

Once the API key is correct, clicking on set address on map will fix your lat and lon.

    Thanks

There is nothing I can do on my side.

You need to fix the Google Maps API key settings as there must be something wrong in there. If you take a screenshot of the API settings, I’ll try to point you in the right direction.

    Thanks

I asked for a screenshot of the Google Maps API Settings, which evidently are still wrong…

Where exactly do I find what you are looking for? There’s so many settings I can’t tell which one you need.

Google Maps API Settings on Google.com not on your website backend (that I can check by myself)

    Thanks
