Hi
We are now really at the last stages of our website and about to launch. Been testing everything, adding listings by admin, by user, buddypress with youzer all working fine.
Now doing the final tests in the soft launch, already with new paying members trying out and we run into the following problem.
A (new) user CAN add a new listing logged in with their username at level ! (S2memberlevel1 from the membership plugin) No problem, all fields can be filled in, images uploaded etc.)
But once online, and when you want to edit your listing as a user, you seem to be able to load up images, you save them but in the end they are not saved.
And if you try to add a feature, you get the error as can be seen in the printscreen attached.
globaldutchies.nl dice Invalid message ID.
But in the blue field you can read at the same tiem : update recieved, your changes are now live and can be seen at. etc.
Note. As an admin I can change everything, add photos etc. No problem there, the problem occurs when the user tries to change things in the front end of a already published listing. Thanks

If I understand correctly, the issue is that images are not saved when a non-admin edits the listing.

I published a test listing as a subscriber user and did not have any problems updating the listing and saving/adding new images.
Your GD plugin is out of date, and WP Easy Updates is not displaying license information. Please follow these instructions to remedy the issue with WP Easy Updates
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/troubleshooting/#missing
Once you update GD Core and other addons as needed, please let us know if the problem persists. If it does, please tell us what other steps we should take to see the issue.

February 20, 2019 at 5:50 pm #470219Hi Alex
WP easy is installed, and as it seems updates. In dashboard > plugins > wp easy update I dont see any option to check the display of the license information. ? Wp easy is apparently not working well, because right now I have a lot of GD plugins waiting to be uploaded.
I will upload them manually right now, so I can check if the problem of users updating their own listing has been solved. Will report today if it has been solved. It would be great if you could check why the wp easy plugin is not functioning.
As always, thanks for your help
February 20, 2019 at 5:58 pm #470222As an immediate update, I get a internal server error while trying to update the jetpack plugin. Did not try to update geo plugins yet.
yesterday I also got initially an error while updating wp easy…but this morning it seemd updated an everything ok
Search on google what might be a cause of this error and thinking that this might be caused by the new php file that I uploaded with ftp in the indicated map?
thanks
February 21, 2019 at 1:30 am #470264Hi I dont know if this helps with the solution or if this is related, but since the installation of the php file and internal server error, I get on my back end strange edit pages for Edit page and edit place…see attached print screen (tried this several times, on several browsers)
Thanks
February 21, 2019 at 4:55 pm #470386Your site is running very slowly. You have enough plugins installed that running on a shared host will start to impact performance. When the site is slow, plugin updates can fail because the site runs out of resources while trying to download and install an update. In certain cases if it fails during specific critical operations this can result in a 500 error. These are all reasons to make sure your server is not underpowered.
WP Easy Updates is functioning.
When I try to edit an accomodation in the backend it works as expected. Is it a particular listing that is causing the issue?
Erratic errors can be caused by server performance issues, too. If the site resources file during critical operations, well, significant errors can occur.
February 21, 2019 at 7:48 pm #470440Hi Alex
Thanks for your answer. Checking all plugins, I deleted 2 plugins that we dont use. I saw that you? installed another update plugin, “Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades” (I did not install it? )
There are 2 now, with the other “WP Easy Updates” or do they belong together? At 10 am Mexican time so 4 pm dutch time I found 15 plugins (nearly all geo plugins) to be updated, so I did that all manually. one by one. So those updates were not done by one of the 2 installed update plugins. So either you have another way of checking that the WP easy update plugin works fine, or it only seemed to work well, while it was me updating manually.
Editing an accommodation in the back end logged in as admin never has been a problem, the problems existed with “log in as a user” (level1) and trying to make changes in your own listing.
But since I upgraded all the plugins, this works now.
Thanks for the help!
February 21, 2019 at 8:28 pm #470448OK, great, glad to hear it is working.
If you run into issues with Subscribers not being able to edit, you may need to sort that with the membership plugin author because GD doesn’t have any features that would stop a user from a editing a listing (if they are the owner, for example).February 28, 2019 at 5:12 pm #471724This reply has been marked as private.February 28, 2019 at 6:16 pm #471740This reply has been marked as private. -
