    Hi,
I’m on day 2 of getting GeoDirectory with Supreme Directory working, and so far I’m impressed.

I’m importing records using the Import CSV function and get the following errors.
    123 / 349 item(s) added.
    2 / 349 item(s) ignored due to already exists.
220 / 349 item(s) could not be added due to blank/invalid address(city, region, country, latitude, longitude).
6 / 349 item(s) could not be added due to blank title/invalid post type/invalid characters used in data.

I can’t visually see what the errors are in my csv files, and wondered if there is a detailed log of the records that the import process identified as being in error so I can focus better on the cause.
    Many thanks!

You can only import listings of your default location, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/#mandatory

You have invalid characters in categories, title etc, for example row 102.

Have you created all categories first?

    Thanks

    Thanks Guust.
I’ve changed all “Cafe” with an accent to straight “Cafe” now. However I still have 2 errors and I can’t work out where they are. What characters are not allowed in the various fields? Is there an error log to identify the failing rows in the CSV file?

Yes – I did create the categories first. The sample listings also have category names with commas in. This causes problems in importing because the import process assumes that each is a separate category. I’ve now removed all the commas from categories in my csv and database.

With respect to the default location, In Australia, the zip code can cover many suburbs, and is often used to define a locale rather than an individual suburb. For example, Samford Village is a small suburb of perhaps 6 square km, whereas the 4520 zip code covers an area of over 200 square km and includes about 10 suburbs. My directory is targeted at the 4520 zip code area.

    1. Is there a way in which this can be addressed without buying the MultiLocations plugin?

If I have to go down that path:
    2. Will the MultiLocations Plugin allow the import to work with different locations?
    3. Is the plugin available from ThemeForest (as I already have a credit in my account there)?

    Thanks again!

    Cheers
    …Steve

The Google API treats every Australian suburb or town as a separate “city”, see also https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location
So you will need the Multilocations addon if you want listings in Highvale or Camp Mountain etc.
Google even treats Samford and Samford Village as separate locations.
Once installed, you will be able to import listings in any location.

The plugin is only available here.

    Thanks.

PS: I live in Cedar Creek 🙂
