Hi. The ‘excerpt’ field is editable in the WP back-end on events. The field does not show up on the ‘edit listing’ page.

I suspect this is also true of ‘place’ listings but I have not tested it.

This is handy to show a short description in the list of events. Descriptions can be really long, and the list of CPT’s is much cleaner if the ‘excerpt’ is used.

Not really a bug, more of a feature request. Thanks!

The way to solve that is to use a text custom field, call it Excerpt, and add it to the “Listings page” at “Show in what locations”. That should enable it for both front and back end.

There is also the option to limit the words or characters of the description being used in the Listings grid, you do not have to show the whole description.

Feature request can be added here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/requests/

    Thanks
