    Hi all,
I see in the list of feature requests a whole bunch of suggestions which I think would be a great improvement of various parts of GD. I have added my vote to many of them which in some cases are stopping me from developing my site further and going live until some of these suggestions are added as I think they are fundamental to my site e.g

    1. Better search functions on categories having selected a CPT, or a universal search function.
    2. Stop changing locations if visitor does not want to share their location no matter what browser they are using. I have to disable share plugin to get round this.
    3. The development of a booking system as suggested by manilaboy 3 months ago maybe working with Free to Book or Queensbourgh rather than reinventing the wheel.
    4. Multisite compatibility.

I see that some suggestions with few votes are completed but some suggestions at the top of the list with over 70 votes are still not in progress. It sort of makes the suggestion system ineffective if the requests are not taken on board timeously and in order. Maybe you need more guys on board to get the task list done?

    Just an observation.

    Joe

    Hi Paolo and Stiofan,

Perhaps it will help if you can just post if a request is approved or rejected so we can decide if we should wait or have it done by ourselves. Just a suggestion and I hope you don’t mind. 🙂

    Hi,

just to make sure this is 100% clear to everyone. Our task list is not the feature requests list. That is a plus, which is there to indicate what our members would like to see next.

They are requests, not work orders.

The only 2 completed requests (Avada and X) were requests made when GD was 1st released and both were completed before the request system was even in place.

Our task list currently includes bugs/improvements of currently released products as reported in the support forum which will always have priorities over requests.

Since the new developers started working with Stiofan, the list is becoming smaller and smaller.

Once it will be cleared, we will start developing new features and addons.

Given that you make it sound like we are not doing enough, I would like to point out that, since the 1st release on april 21st, this is what has been done so far, only for the core plugin: https://wpgeodirectory.com/change-logs/

In addition we have released 20 between addons, themes and compatibility packs all of which, have been updated several times.

Everything we did, was done following the feedback we received here on the forum.

Hopefully this will clarify once and for all the meaning of features requests.

    Thank you

    Hi Paolo,

I am not suggesting that you and all the team are not working hard enough as its plain to everyone that you are. I just think that there is not enough of you on board to get the tasks done timeously.

The majority of the the suggestions are not whistles and bells requests but in fact are improvements on functionality which are lacking as compared to other products available.

The members want their websites to be functional, have an easy to follow sign up process, and to make money from their sites. That’s what most of us want and no more. GD is sadly lacking in some of these areas and many links I have followed to members websites seem to be a work in progress with few as finished and profit making ventures.

I have been on board paying my dues for well over a year now and I am still not able to launch a live website using firstly GT and now GD (which I thought was launched too early, hence the extensive change log) because it lacks some of the fundamentals for an GEO accommodation website especially in the search functions and the front end customer/client experience. How many times do these points have to be raised on the forum before they are actioned?

I have some experience in this market for the last 14 years with 2 successful sites up and running and have developed our own accommodation mobile app so I am not being critical just for the sake of it. We know what problems we will be faced with if we launch a Country wide site without all the tools we need in place especially in the customer/client front end self help and visitor search experience.
We had great expectations firstly with GT and then GD but my frustration is getting the better of me.

As Manilaboy says in the nicest possible way, tell us what the time frame is for some of these basic enhancements so that we can make an informed decision to stick with the project or move on.

    Regards and good luck.

    Hi Joe,

As Paolo said, once everything is is cleared from core and main addons then we will be working on extra features. We are getting there and are due to do another round of updates very soon. After this we will be marking progress on features more and try and keep people updated about progress more.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan
