I have a problem with the featured area background image on a site. I am working on 2 GD sites that use the Supreme directory.

One one site displays the default map as the featured area background image on all the listings. I had uploaded a custom image for each listing which displays on the homepage and in the listings details page in the “images” tab.

The other site displays a custom image as the featured area background image on all the listings. I had uploaded a custom image for each listing which displays on the homepage and in the listings details page in the “images” tab AND as the featured area background image.

Could you help me figure out why one site displays the custom image in the featured area but not on the other site? I want the default image to display in the featured area not the custom image but I have no idea which setting I have to change.

    Awaiting a reply

There is a setting for Supreme to enable the featured area images:

    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/themes/supreme/#featured-image-theme-setting

Did you add the image(s) to a listing you imported?

Yes, I added the image to each listing I imported.

I will add an default image but in the meantime, removed the featured image area in the details page by going to Pages > GD Detail > Featured Area Settings > None

FYI: There is no checkbox in GD – Settings – Detail – Disable Theme Featured Image output (see attached).

    The setting is in

GD – Settings – Design – Details – Show advanced

I already removed the featured image area in the details page by going to Pages > GD Detail > Featured Area Settings > None but now I know the featured image setting is in the post above (please update the https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/themes/supreme/#featured-image-theme-setting to show the correct path to the settings).

In my private post above, #521623, I asked why are there 1000’s of multiple images in my Media Library for the 2nd site in question. I had added the image to each listing I imported on both sites. I want to clear out all of these 1000’s of images from my media library.

The only difference I see between the 2 sites is that the 1st site has 3199 posts pending review (see attached) and the 2nd site has no posts pending review. I think the “New listing default status” on the 1st site was “pending review” before I uploaded the csv file so that’s why it has 3199 posts pending review (even though the csv had “published” selected). This is possibly why I didn’t have 1000’s of multiple images in my Media Library on the 1st site. And on the 2nd site, I think the “New listing default status” on the 1st site was “published” before I uploaded the csv file so it created multiple images in the Media Library. What do you think?

    What do you think?

Did you import the images via URL, like, a url for the image in the CSV import?

Yes, each listing included its own .png image in the csv file.

As a URL? If so, then they will all be imported individually.

The GD Fallback image system was ‘invented’ at least in part as a solution for this. If you don’t want multiple copies, one for each listing, then use the fallback images for listings, CPT, or category:

Yes, I realized that adding the entire file path to the image for each listing before uploading the .csv created multiple copies. So, I restored the site from a cpanel backup and removed the full image url and only added the .png image for each listing before uploading the csv file. I then copied the images from the uploads/2019/10 to the uploads/2019/12 folder and Voila all the listings populated with the images per the documentation above.

Thanks so much for your time with this issue.
