Featured IMage Header

Hey Guys,

Trying to decide between supreme and starter theme. I love everything about supreme except i would like the map on the listings page to actually be a widget so i can use it for ads and such. Due to other previous conversations i have been informed this is not possible without customization.

So now im looking to go with the starter theme as i like the layout and the use of widgets. The only thing i want to make different is that instead of a large map on the home page, I’d rather have the featured image with the search box that the supreme layout uses. Is this possible with some code or again is this customization? I cant undertsand why this is so hard to add to this theme? Any help?
