filter and custom post types

    Hi,

    I have two issues regarding the filter and the custom post types:

    1. At the moment my filter contains ‘Places’ and ‘Events’ as post types. I would like to have my events popular categories (‘Cuban Salsa’ and ‘Mambo’) instead of those two post types.

    Should I purchase the Custom Post Type add-on for this? If yes, will my new CPTs have the same system management just as for the Events system management.

    2. At the moment my filter contains the standard search options: ‘Search for’ and ‘near’.

    Is it possible to have in the ‘Search for’ box ‘What dance style do you want’? If yes, how?

    Is it possible to have in the ‘near’ box the geolocation option ‘my current location’? If yes, how?

    1. That list will ever only have CPTs, not categories. If you want to add categories to the search as well, you can achieve that with the Advanced Search addon, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/search-filters-overview/#filter

    To add “my current location” you need the Advanced Search as well. Click on the compass in the Near field at http://wpgeo.directory/

    “Events” is just like any other CPT except that it has special date and time features.

    What you show in the image is the different CPTs on that site, those are not categories at https://wpgeo.directory

    Can I create new CPTs just like the ‘Events’ CPT but with different names?

    For example, I would like to have ‘Cuban Salsa’ as a CPT which would have the exact same features as the ‘Events’ CPT.

    Is this possible?

    no I’m sorry, you can have as many listing CPT as you wish, but you can only have 1 event CPT.
