Free trial query

I’ve got a couple of questions about free trials.

1) If someone takes out a listing on a free trial and then before the paypal recurring payment kicks in cancels is there a way of stopping them taking out a new listing without the trial?

2) If there are existing users who have a listing on a package before the free trial is switched on (bear in mind some of us has transfered over from Geotheme) when their policy renews they will see a message with the free trial message and then on checkout the terms will it again states they’re getting a free trial. So, in this scenario would they actually get the free trial and is there any way to differentiate the message to stop this happening?
A couple of months ago I asked a similar question and was advised to do some customisation of “geodir_publish_payment_listing_form_before_msg()” function (see https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/discounts-free-trials-and-recurring-payments-on-preview/) Before I got around to doing anything with this the change to Checkout message had been implemented & therefore I had hoped further customisation would not be necessary.
