Hi,
I am just trying to convert my site from GDV1 to GDV2 and followed all steps described very carefully.Back up site and database – check
Back up all individual css – check
Create staging area – check
Deactivate all non-GD-plugins – check
On FTP all GDV1 plugins into backup file – check
On FTP all GDV1 themes into back file – checkNow I am re-entering the staging area and the description says I shall follow the prompts from the GD converter. But there are no prompts of any GD Converter at all.
What have I missed?
Best regards
BirgitFebruary 19, 2019 at 8:31 pm #470092Oh, and of course I have extracted and uploaded all GDV2 themes and plugins on the FTP Server. Check.
February 20, 2019 at 3:51 am #470122If GDV2 is in the /plugins directory, then go ahead and activate and you will then see the converter info.
February 20, 2019 at 6:21 pm #470225Hi Alex,
If by /plugins directory you mean my ftp server clickandbuilds/mydomain/wp-content/plugins
Yes, all GDV2 plugins are in there and all GDV1 plugins are shiftet to
clickandbuilds/mydomain/wp-content/plugins/backup.If you mean the plugin directory in the wpstaging area https://mydomain/pmw-staging/wp-admin/plugins.php
No, only the GDV1 versions of all plugins are in there. I think I have read in the documentation, that I should not upload and activate the GDV2 plugins via this WP admin surface but only via ftp server.
And when I try to open the wp admin area of my normal (non-staging) domain, I am getting a fatal error message.
What went wrong?
February 21, 2019 at 4:46 pm #470372I mean following the steps outlined here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/installation/#convertIf you are receiving a fatal error, please tell us the site status, then provide WP Admin and FTP info so we can take a look.

The errors are due to the caching plugin you have used which modifies the advanced-cache.php file located in the wp-content folder. So you have used the GD Booster plugin which modified this file but you have deactivated that plugin which caused an error. I have a disabled cache from the wp-config.php file and the errors are not showing now. Please review it and let me know if any queries.
