    Hi there,

I feel a bit stupid to ask but I pasted the Google Analytics Code into the GD config a long time ago and now I can’t find where anymore. I can find it in the wp_options database table (option_name=geodir_ga_tracking_code) and in the documentation (https://wpgeodirectory.com/codex/codex/geodirectory_actions/geodir_google_analytic_settings/) it sounds as if I should find it at GD>General>Google Analytics. But there is no such text field. Could it be that I pasted the code in a field that only existed in earlier GD versions? It sounds a bit like it on this page https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-core-plugin-google-analytics/

Please give me a hint on how to remove the GA code.

    Thanks in advance
    Jonas

    Try changing this option:
GD > General > Google Analytics code > Add Google analytics tracking code to site? > NO

    Thanks

Unfortunately, it is already on “no” (also tried switching it to “yes” and back) 🙁

The code gets added when you select YES at GD > General > Google Analytics code > Add Google analytics tracking code to site?

The code does not get deleted if you select then NO at GD > General > Google Analytics code > Add Google analytics tracking code to site?

All that happens is that the code is removed from the frontend, by setting the option for geodir_ga_add_tracking_code to 1 instead of 0.

For the moment the code is not used on your website.
If you really want to remove it from the database, delete the content of the option value of geodir_ga_tracking_code, but there is no need to. If you ever connect a different GA account, it will be overwritten anyway.

    Thanks

The settings say the code is not in use… it is still in the source-code though.

Unfortunately changing settings for “GD > General > Google Analytics code > Add Google analytics tracking code to site?” does not change the value for geodir_ga_add_tracking_code in the database. I tried setting the value to 1 and 0 manually… Code’s still there either way.

I started wondering if I added the code some place else but I changed geodir_ga_tracking_code in the database and the source code changed accordingly. So I can’t have implemented it through another plugin and we obviously don’t have any caching issues or so.

I now emptied the value for geodir_ga_tracking_code so the GA code is no longer on the page and the issue is solved for me because I will no longer use that feature. However, I think it is still a bug which might cause trouble for other users.

    Kind regards,
    Jonas

I looked on your site before and could not find it in the source code of the pages I checked.
    I’ll set to resolved.
