    Hi ,

    I am trying to change the structure of my categories list from image1 to image2 (please see attached). Is this something achievable via GD? If not, please can you also advice what is the best way I should use to achieve this result?

    Thanks,
    Wayne

    That is not possible out of the box, you would need to customize at least the CSS and if you want to use other icons than your category icons you use for the maps, it will not be able to be done with CSS only.

    Thanks

    Hi ,

    Please can you kindly elaborate more? Other than CSS, to achieve the result would we need to make changes to e.g. our php files? We’ve been struggling lately with this.

    Regarding icons, can you kindly guide where to find them in our files? I’d like to also replace some icons such as the “Favourite” button.

    Thanks in advance,
    Wayne

    Category icons are added at Places {or other CPT] > PLaces Categories
    If you want to use those icons to achieve what you want, there should be no need to do anything else than CSS.

    To change the favorite icon, you can do that with CSS like this:

    .fa-heart:before {
    font-family: FontAwesome;
    content: "\f1b9";
    color: #990099;
    font-size: 18px;
    padding-left: 0px;
    }

    Change as required, you will find more info at
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/custom-field-examples/#special-icons
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

    Thank you for your guidance. Your code works perfectly!

    Just to a follow-up question on the Favorite button-

    1) I’d like to change the word “Favorite” to another word (to apply better for my site). Is there an easy way to do so?

    2) Also, after applying your code, the new icon does not “fill” when I click on it. Can you kindly guide how I can do this? via CSS I presume?

    Regards,
    Wayne

    1. See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

    2. Please post the URL of that page so we can inspect the code. Thanks.
