Hi
I have installed GeoDirectory V2 on an existing site running Uncode as template.
I don’t want GD to be my frontpage but as a part of the website. I want the “GD Home” page to be a separat page – and I want to customize the look on the page. I just can’t find a way to do so!
I have tried adding shortcodes to a page but most shortcodes just ends up displaying the shortcode text and not the functionality that I expected.
I have also tried to add shortcodes on the search page but I can’t remove the default shortcodes (check it out here https://www.screencast.com/t/FsKdtKu4M ). I am really confused on how to customize this plugin. I don’t want to change the Theme on my website to a GeoDirectory theem – because GeoDirectory will only be a part of my website.
Can i somehow customize a GD Homepage where I can add search fields, text and more. Customize a search result page where I get the different places shown in 2 columns and a map in a third column.
The GD Homepage could looke something like this https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/location/united-states/new-york/poughkeepsie/ and the result could look something like the search result on that page.
I am fully capable in CSS, JavaScript, custom coding in PHP and more – but don’t know where to start.
– Thanks

If you went through the setup wizard, then everything should be working as you want.
GD V2 does not use a homepage for your website, you can create that yourself, adding widgets, blocks or shortcodes, depending on your setup. Can i somehow customize a GD Homepage where I can add search fields, text and more. Customize a search result page where I get the different places shown in 2 columns and a map in a third column.
Your website homepage will be a WP page where you can add those things.
The directory homepage is usually the /location/ page, which should already have your requirements on it, but you can customise at GD > Settings > Pages. You can use any theme you like, there is no need to use a GD theme.
Let us know. Thanks

Thanks a lot for the helpt – it helped a lot.
I still have a couple of issues though.
1. If I use “WPBakery Page Builder” on the page called “Find Angstbehandler” and add a row which wrappes my shortcode as the following code:
[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_wp_text][gd_notifications]
[gd_search]
[gd_loop_actions]
[gd_loop layout=2]
[gd_loop_paging][/vc_wp_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
Then I get two set of content on my page. One working and one which doesn’t (check screencast https://www.screencast.com/t/fEv9ooxmm2)
But the shortcodes is only set once on the page. Is there a way to use WPBakery Page Builder with GeoDirectory – it would make styling a lot more flexible.2. If I try to use a short code for map instead of widget – it doesn’t seem to work.
I have tried the following
[gd_homepage_map width=100% height=300 scrollwheel=false] and [gd_listing_map width=100% height=300 scrollwheel=false] they only show the shortcode text. It could be very convenient as a short code, because then I could integrate it directly in my design setup on the page (Find angstbehandler

2. Those are not V2 shortcodes. Use the shortcode builder in classic mode to find the correct shortcode.
