I use the listing import tool to pull in some of my CPT listings. This works great.

On one CPT type I provide Lat/Lon as the main location of the listing. However, in order for the listing to import properly I also had to add an address. In this case I had to make up a fake street address to get the import to work.

Fortunately the Lat/lon seems to override the street location so the listing ends up in the correct location. However the data still includes a fake street address which can be confusing to the user.

I thought I read somewhere that the import should work using lat/lon without an address but I can’t find the reference. I’m wondering if it’s because I have address as a required field on the form? Originally I assumed the import tool did not have knowledge of what fields were required but maybe it does? Can you advise if using just lat/lon on import should work?

    Hi,

no the address field is mandatory, but you can simply put the city or location name instead of a fake address.

Let us know how it goes,

    Thanks
