August 31, 2015 at 10:37 am #51442Hi there, WordPress: 4.3
GeoDirectory 1.5.1I have the problem that GeoDirectory is building faulty urls because URLs are missing the region. Example:
 GeoDirectory generates the following URL
http://some.server.com/places/city/category/entry-name/This however leads to a message “No records found” (even with activated “Change Location” menu and selected region!) and no Google map is displayed at all. The user is trapped in this situation. However, when manually editing the URL and adding a region it works:
http://some.server.com/places/city/region/category/entry-name/What’s wrong here? I already have checked the documentation and couldn’t find anything. All settings are according to Do’s and Don’t’s Thank you for your help! Cheers,
 BernhardAugust 31, 2015 at 2:24 pm #51453Hi Bernhard
What are your settings at GD > Permalinks?
 https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-permalinks/From that page:
Add city slug in listing urls:
You can only use this option if your site only covers one region or city, do not use if your directory covers more than one region and/or country.
Example: mydomain.com/places/dallas/hotels/my-listingAugust 31, 2015 at 3:58 pm #51474Hi Guust, thanks for getting back to me. I just changed it from Add city slug in listing urls to the setting that describes my setting best -> Add full location info with country, region and city slug in listing urls plus the option Add requested category slugs in listing urls. I would expect permalinks to now look like this:
http://some.server.com/places/country/region/city/category/entry-name/But unfortunatelly they look like the following schema and still don’t show the detail entry
http://some.server.com/places/region/city/category/entry-name/The other thing I just came accross is that rewriting of urls does not work somehow. Means that when clicking on a pagination link it takes me to another overview page that isn’t the second page of entries at all. It seems I am locked to a specific location which is assumed to be the default location and am unable to browse the complete directory just by categories. I have removed the location switcher as it is not supposed to be used in this project. Please help, what am I missing? Thanks again,
BernhardAugust 31, 2015 at 5:21 pm #51487Hi Bernhard, please provide a link a wp admin credentials in a private reply and we will have a direct look at your case. Thank you August 31, 2015 at 5:50 pm #51496This reply has been marked as private.August 31, 2015 at 6:36 pm #51508Hi, you have that CPT selected in GeoDirectory >> General >> Select CPT to disable physical location Select the post types that does not require geographic position/physical location. All fields will be disabled that related to geographic position/physical location. Including in the URL. Thanks August 31, 2015 at 7:40 pm #51518This reply has been marked as private.August 31, 2015 at 8:11 pm #51519Hi, you have the location page with the same name of the CPT. Please keep the 2 things separate. They are different things. 1 is the directory home page, the other is the listings page: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/ In MultiLocation you enabled default country/region and city, which basically means excluding any other locations, are you sure you want to do this? Please stop playing around with settings and explain what you are trying to achieve and we will tell you if it is feasible. Thanks
