Is there a way with the geo directoy that I could have business owners distinguish between that individuals visiting the website can see especially if they have a preference.

Also is there a way to search and filter only those business owners?

a women owned
veteran owned business

I am not really sure I understand the question, but you can add a custom field with those option and then add that to the search using the Advanced Search addon.

Guust is right, with GDV2 you could use a Custom Field, and then display a specific to the value chosen, similar to our featured listings example here:
