Hello, I installed the geo travel theme (and purchased and installed the Genesis theme as well). However, the pages described in the instructions were not created and the website does not look like the geo travel theme demo. What am I missing?
I am using wordpress.com if that makes any difference.April 10, 2018 at 11:36 pm #425865I forgot to mention that I installed the GeoDirectory plugin as well so you don’t think I am missing the plugin 🙂

April 11, 2018 at 3:50 pm #426033Hi,
I followed exactly those instructions. Why doesn’t my home page look like the geo travel theme?April 11, 2018 at 5:51 pm #426068Hello,
we can take a look at your settings, just make a private reply and include your site information below.
Did you also complete all the installation steps and install the dummy content, too?

About the license, make sure you are using the correct license key that you find here next to the download link for that child theme: https://wpgeodirectory.com/your-account/
Also make sure to have the Genesis Framework installed. The Geo travel Child theme cannot work without Genesis.
April 22, 2018 at 2:00 pm #427544Hi,
This is a known issue of wp.com redirecting to their login. I would have to register the specific account with them I guess..Anyway, I did install the Genesis Framework, then the Geo Travel Child theme as it says in the instructions. However, it doesn’t ask me for a license key at all! It is not that I do not have the key, there is nowhere to enter it.
And I deleted everything and did the installation from scratch a second time -the same thing. The biggest issue is that the theme and plugin do not generate pages as shown in the demo.
How do I get it to look like the Travel Child Theme with pages and menu without creating all pages and everything from scratch? With other themes, when I install the theme, it creates the pages and looks like the demo and then I can replace pictures and text. Is this something that it is not done by your theme and plugin?
April 22, 2018 at 6:32 pm #427565Login – It is a feature of Jetpack and can be disabled at: Jetpack > Settings > Security” and look for ‘Secure Sign On’
Theme License – Visit WordPress – Appearance – Themes – Select the theme (click on image), enter the license
The Geodirectory plugin on first install will create required pages. If they have been deleted, they can be restored at:
GD – GD Tools – Page Check – RunMenus area hard to delete, but, if you did, then you can quickly recreate them by adding a new menu, and then adding the GD Home and Register page to it.
The Geo Travel documentation describes how to configure the front page. Pay particular attention to the widget area names.
On first install, GD will add some example widgets to your GD Home page and widget areas, but after that, if the theme is switched, widgets must be added again. This is the case because GD is a plugin, not a theme. You could start with a fresh install of WordPress, but, that might save you only a couple minutes of adding widgets to your GD Home page.
If you would like concierge service with setup of your site, please contact a GD Expert: https://geodirectoryexperts.com
Add some widgets to GD Home, then set your site front page to GD Home. Then follow the remainder of the instructions here; https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/geo-travel-genesis-child-theme-overview/
