Hi,
I hit a problem importing category icons today.
I tried the following procedure:
– I created the category icons as png files and imported them to the WP media area
– I exported a CSV from Open Office Calc with a few test categories and then used the field naming conventions, layout and icon file name structureThe category names – 64 in total – imported fine but the icons haven’t.
I tried deleting the icons and the categories and started again but it still hasn’t worked.
Please can you advise what I am doing wrong?
Thanks
Alistair

October 5, 2016 at 2:21 pm #278051Hi Alistair Williamson,
I’ve just checked your Website and I’m able to see some broken images in the “Service Provider” categories. I believe you are referring to this one http://prntscr.com/cq5bim . Could you share some of the images and I’ll try to upload it for you?
Thanks!

October 5, 2016 at 4:33 pm #278116Hi Alistair Williamson,
Not sure what’s wrong but I’m able to upload the category images without issues. Check out this screencast for your reference http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cD6hDwjU9n . Could it be a browser issue?

October 6, 2016 at 9:36 am #278426Hi KC,
In the end I manually updated the broken files.
I tried various methods with the import routine but I found only the icon files with single word naming would be automatically detected by GD?
I placed the icon files in WP-content/2016/10 and I imported them directly in to the media folder. However, it was still only the icon files with single word naming that were found automatically.
Maybe the import routine is sensitive to the file naming convention used and only accepts single word naming?
Bests
Alistair
October 7, 2016 at 3:19 am #278800Hi Alistair,
GD plugin uses the default media upload functionality. If you’re having issues uploading media images, I’d suggest that you bring this question to the WP support forums instead as there only you’ll get the best solution. Meanwhile, there could be some type of restrictions applied on your server, so try contacting your hosting provider and ask them to check on it.
Thanks!
