June 3, 2016 at 12:22 pm #202895I modified geodirectory po – geodiradvancesearch po – geodir_payments po
with the mo file uploaded and none work what is wrong ? please helpJune 3, 2016 at 3:16 pm #202951You are doing something wrong, when I just save your existing PO files, the MO file created is a little bit different and then works.
1. Download the English file, using FTP
2. Open PoEdit
3. Choose “create new translation”
4. Choose French
5. When saving, save as correct name and in correct location.
6. UploadHow are you doing it?
June 3, 2016 at 3:35 pm #202958hey gust thanks for your reply this is the steps i do.
1 i download the english file using ftp
2 i right click on the file open with poedit
3 i save an mo file is created
4 i upload both to the correct folder with the correct nameit’s still not working.
When i create a new translation i get a blank project and all the translations from the transifex files are lost. I really need to translate all expressions that are in English so i need to understand whats going on so i can do this myself. Thanks for all the help!
June 3, 2016 at 3:57 pm #202965Hi Stevens,
It’s evident that the problem is on your side and most probably with poedit.
I’m not really sure there is much we can do to help.
The only thing I can suggest is to finish your translation, upload the po files and let us know, we will create the mo files for you and re-upload them.
I would still ask for help on the poedit support forum.
Thanks
June 4, 2016 at 2:44 am #203113I just checked the process explained at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/getting-translation-files/ and it should work.
June 6, 2016 at 11:11 pm #204461hi paolo and gust thanks for your time i have checked the docs avalailable i downloaded all the translations i needed saved them with poedit to recompile automatically the mo file and i uploaded the files to the correct folders. my translations are still not taken in effect can you do like you said and you upload the mo file for me please? sorry i wished i could do it myself but i apreciate your help! thanks ahead
June 7, 2016 at 9:41 am #204547Updated your mo files.
June 7, 2016 at 12:43 pm #204611Hello there I have to ask you I have done modifiactions to my po file that you reloaded and for some reason most of them work put some don’t like ‘please review and accept our terms’ (from the core plugin) if you may do this again please!!! and if you can do this for all the language file for the geodirectory plugins! because i have done modification on 6 other plugins and I still can not see the translations coming in effect I have cleared my browsers cookies and used private navigation. sorry for the bug …
June 7, 2016 at 1:13 pm #204616I only created a MO file for your current PO files, I have not made any other changes.
Fixed it again, but we cannot keep doing this, please try to find out what you are doing wrong.
Backup what I have done now and do a few tests to see if there is a setting in your PoEdit that needs changing or seek assistance from PoEdit. Thanks.June 7, 2016 at 1:35 pm #204621Yes I undertand this is very annoying for myself also I know for a fact I translated pease review our terms and accept but the translation is coming in effect even though YOU fixed it … I will buy a paid version of poedit once I get a few listings in 😉 Can you tell me why this translation isn’t complete please again I wasn’t the one who created to mo files and part of the translations work just not all how come ?
June 7, 2016 at 11:47 pm #205160You need to use correct HTML code in the PO file, instead of
Veuillez lire et accepter les Termes & Conditions
you should use
Veuillez lire et accepter les Termes & amp ; Conditions
That might explain a lot of other issues you have, because you are translating to French.
http://www.ascii.cl/htmlcodes.htm
PS: the code above for
& amp ;
should not have spaces.
