Hello, it seems i have an issue with geolocation. What i am trying to achieve is to have a user geolocated automatically and the map to move to his/her location on first load. I ve played with geodirectory settings and enabled redirect on first load…. but although the user is located the map doesnt move to show his/her location, instead it stays on default location of geodirectory. I ve also tried to change default location through multi locations settings but the map always is centered on the default location that was given when we fist installed thew plugin. Can you please help me with that issue?

Thank you in advance for your support.

    HI,

that’s not possible, the user must authorize the browser to share his location for GeoLocation to work.

We use Google GeoLocation service and that’s how it works.

    Thanks

Yes, i understand that. I have set the option to ask for permission. However, under advanced search there is an option called “Redirect to nearest location (on first time load users will be auto geolocated and redirected to nearest geolocation found)” and i was hopping that this would make the map zoom in in the location of the user after he or she agrees to be geolocated. Is this not possible at the moment or is there a way to accomplish this?

    Thank you.

That is how it should work. Is your website under https/ssl? Because that is now a requirement for both Chrome and Safari.

If you provide a link and admin credentials, we will have a look.

    Let us know,

    Thanks

    Hi,

even though SSL is not properly installed, I was asked if I wanted to be geolocated and after authorizing I was redirected to a non existing page, because you deleted the location page (which is mandatory) and you didn’t select a new location page in GD >> Permalinks. Leaving it blank will not work. Go to GD > GD Tools and run the utility to fix GD Pages.

To fix the SSL problem you need to search all instances of your url with http in the database and replace it with https. You can do that with the better search and replace plugin

    Thanks
