I was told yesterday to to update my supreme theme.
since then i can`t go directly to region or city pages.

can I simply delete the new theme and upload the old supreme theme without crashing the whole page?

and no, I don`t want to use the location field in the menue bar. one location field is enough for me, thank you.

    best

    chris

    Hi,

it’d be much better if you provide us with a link and admin credentials in a private reply, so that we can see and fix what’s causing this.

In our demo we cannot recreate this problem.

    Thanks

    Hi,

that’s not possible, I invite you to go back to a previous version to verify it, but I assure you that is not the case. Location can only be changed via location switcher.

The search form never allowed to change location. If you have the advance search add-on installed, it will include an autocompleter for the near field, but it allows to search IN a location, it doesn’t redirect to the corresponding location page.

To activate GeoLocation, go to GeoDirectory >> Advance Search and enable it. After visiting the website it will ask users if the want to share their location and if they do they’ll be directed to their location page.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I just checked your website again and it works exactly like our demo: http://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/

I assure that it always worked that way.

    Thanks

ok, let`s leave it that way. I have to hire a programmer.

But how can I translate “NEAR ME” on the NEAR ME page???

well, I just checked your demo.

First I see: Find local treasures
    Next step: geolocation
last step: I see Haarlem (I am in Vienna/Austria)

So why I only see “NEAR ME”???? What is wrong?????

    thanks

    Hi,

    it’s in the geodirlocation-en_US.po file.

    I just tested it.

Because that page isn’t showing only listings from Vienna, it will show listings around you in the radius that you define. If you are between 2 city and within the defined radius from both, it will show listings from both cities.

    Hope it’s clearer now.

    Thanks

    Thanks!

    one case solved. great.

I just set the default radius to 1km. but still “near me” instead of vienna.

    crazy.

    I ll search my database.

so if I would have a city as radius point and there is a small town near be, it could lead to difficulties. right?

    I have to check

    Crazy,

I set the default radius to 1km –> “near me”-page

Now I set the default radius to 0km –> wien (vienna)-page

    is that right? crazy.

    but thaaaaanks!

“Near me” does NOT mean “In Vienna”.
Like Paolo explained (and me before too), if you set the radius to 1 km and you are somewhere in Vienna, the results will be all listings within a radius of 1 km around where the system has located you.
If you want to go to the Vienna page because you want to see all listings IN VIENNA (and not NEAR YOU) you need to use the switcher.

The NEAR ME page is as a result of a SEARCH.
The IN VIENNA page is a LOCATION page because you select the city from the switcher.

If you end up at the NEAR ME page on first entry, I am guessing you did not let the system complete the geolocation and the redirection, but you have clicked on the search button.

I doubt any of the issues is caused by this, but you might want to clear your browser settings:

just FYI and to complete the information, the location/me page (near me), is where users are redirected after geolocation, if there are listings within a certain radius from their physical position.
