google maps loading intermittently

    This is a hard problem to diagnose because it is intermittent. At the moment, about 30-40% of the time, my map loads up blank. A refresh will often sort it, but not always.

    Maps is the last thing to load usually, and it seems like it is maybe timing out or giving up in some way.

    Is there something the ‘usually’ causes this behaviour? If so, is someone able to take a look at the back end (can provide details) to see what might be causing it?

    still getting intermittent problems. I used the “generate key” button and it gave me a key that I already have (a different one to the one it was using before). I have put that key in – it works sometimes – would an invalid key work sometimes and not others?

    To be honest I haven’t seen that error before. You can try contacting Google about the issue.

    I recommend you revisit the API key settings to make sure you have given full permission for access to the APIs.

    Hi, I think I’m going to need more information about what the actual problem is (that leads you to think you’ve never seen it before), where I see it, and what I tell google.

    I imagine it’s not at all easy getting support from Google, so your help here would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

    I have created a new google API project, added billing. Created entirely new keys which are not restricted in any way.

    The maps do work, sometimes, but not other times. Probably 70% of the time it is not working.

    I have spent 10s of hours setting up this database, so I really need to get this working. Thanks for your help in advance

    ok i think I’ve fixed it! had chat support with google, who told me multiple things were requesting google API.

    I stripped the entire site back to all disabled plugins, and in the end, The Plus Elementor addons was also calling google api for some reason.

    I have disabled that now, and that part of things is working fine.
