Hi, Although I have set the map language within GD for googlemaps to Dutch, I still do have several problems related to the language.
Looking at my test site :
http://test.uwzorgaanbod.nl/?gd_noordholland=tandartspraktijk-tanja-visser#post_map
you’ll notice that the entry field is showing : “Enter your location”
I would like that to be “Uw postcode” but don’t know how to achieve that.
Furthermore when entering my location code (1703VE) Googlemaps shows me the directions however … by default everything is displayed in Miles, whereas I would like the default to be KM !
Can you help me out on these issue’s?

I guess you tried to translate “Enter your location” in the core language file.
That is what I tried and the translation does not seem to work for me either.
That seems to be a bug.And I agree there should be the option to set the default for the detail pages to be kilometers instead of miles, just like you can set the default for the maps.
I’ll refer this to the developers.
September 8, 2014 at 12:53 pm #14625Thanks Ronald,
The translation thing was a bug which i have fixed.
The miles/km defautl is now set from the search defualt settings. Both fixes will be in the next version of core.
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 8, 2014 at 9:37 pm #14694Fixed (already!)
To set the default measurement (miles or kms):
GD > general > searchThe translation now works too.
September 9, 2014 at 8:29 am #14741I’m sorry Guust, that is not the solution in my case because I did already set these values to KM. And for me that doesn’t translate anything.
September 9, 2014 at 8:31 am #14742This was fixed in the releases last night, have u updated?

September 9, 2014 at 9:11 am #14758Hi Stiofan, The thing that was fixed is that the default setting (in my case KM) is indeed now showing up. However the selection list right under the map is still showing “Driving, Walking etc.” in English as is the area where I can enter my postal code, which shows “Enter your location” How can these things be translated?
Anyway, thanks for the quick fix. I hope the above can be resolved as well.
Ronald
September 9, 2014 at 9:24 am #14764Hi Stiofan and Guust,
Now this issue is completely resolved as I have made myself a language file (with Loco Translate plugin) through which I’ve made the translations for the entry-box and selection list. Thanks so far! September 9, 2014 at 9:53 am #14768Well I just did find something else. When updating the GD plugin I do loose my translation file! Do I have to copy that file into another WordPress folder or should GD keep that file during it’s update proces?
September 9, 2014 at 10:57 am #14775Hi Ronald,
Please see here: http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/
You should upload to “/wp-content/languages/” to avoid losing it on upgrade.
Thanks,
Stiofan
September 9, 2014 at 10:58 am #14776Have a look at http://docs.wpgeodirectory.com/translate-core/
You have to move your .MO file to
wp-content/languages/plugins/geodirectory-nl_NL.mo
That will stop it being overwritten. -
