    Hi

I have setup a directory and I am adding Places. I am having issues when I try to add my addresses for the Google Map to work. I add my address in the address input fields and I even click the “My Location” icon, but when I do I get a popup message that looks like this: “Please choose any address of the (Adelaide) city only” I am guessing that this is in relationship to me adding Adelaide as my default location. Is this the case. With all the Places we are adding we are getting that message when we try to add the address. Has someone else come across this as well?

Hi Steve, you need to add the Location Manager: https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/location-manager/

    Thanks

Thankyou for the update Guust, much appreciated. I added the addon and then I tried to open my Place and it went to a 404 page. I must have ticked the wrong box or something?

Thanks Alex, I actually worked it out eventually. However my client Kelly wants to setup the search page like in the attached image. Can anyone make a suggestion on how I can achieve this?

That is using the Supreme theme.
But that can be achieved with the Advanced Search addon, for the top part, and the GD Categories widget for the bottom part.
If you can be more specific as to what you are after, then we can assist better.
A link to the site and WP admin details in a private reply will help too.

    Thanks

You can add any SELECT custom field to the search bar: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/advanced-search/#select

So create the SELECT custom fields as required at
Places > Settings > Custom Fields,
and then add them to the search bar at
Places > Search [I already added the categories].

The categories are ordered firstly with the category with the most listings, and then the next one etc.
You can change that to alphabetically if you want.
Anything else needs your own customization.

Let me know if you need a bit more info. Thanks

    Hi again Guust

Thank you for your help so far. I do have a couple of questions/requests.

My client wants 2 fields in the search bar as well as category. One will be called Organisation Type and the other called Business Type. We would then add these fields in the search bar with Category.

Can you let me know how we can add another category select to the search bar but only allow certain categories? Because at the moment in Categories there are some categories with sub categories attached.

So on the searchbar there will be three search criteria. Categories, Business Type and Organisation Type. I am guess these can all be added by using categories?

No, you need to create 2 additional SELECT custom fields, called “Organisation Type” and the other called “Business Type”.
Then add them to the search.
    Thanks

Again thankyou so much Guust. I am slowly working out how to do this. I hope I am not risking our friendlship by asking for somuch help 🙂

Anyway I do have a question about adding fields to the listing page. I have added 2 new fields. One is for Special offers and the second allows listing owners to add video. I have been able to add the fields okay to list of fields. What I need advice on is at the moment I have both the video and Special offers appearing in the Details Sidebar because I cannot get them to appear anywhere else, even when I select Listings Page or Bubble Map.

Ideally I would like the video and special offers to appear in the area under the main images or in the area next to reviews. I have added a screen capture to show where we would like to add these extra fields.

Thank you again for any help you can offer.

    Have a look at https://wpgeodirectory.com/reordering-tabs-in-geodirectory-v2/
That explains Places > Settings > Tabs.

    Thanks
