Hi guys,
I am looking at the possibility of producing a series of websites and think GeoDirectory might be the best platform for them.
I was hoping to chat to someone on email/WhatsApp to clarify a few questions I have and if it all adds up, potentially pay them to do a bit of startup work.
Thanks!

Thanks.January 4, 2020 at 8:56 am #523970No worries. Thought it would probably be easier just to chat with someone one on one but will try here first.
I tried installing yesterday and a few questions arose:
– See attached. How can I get rid of the meta, categories and archive links.
– Is it possible to also remove the author bit.
January 4, 2020 at 9:34 am #523974Have a look at GD > Settings > Pages.
That is where you can edit the templates.
If you give URLs and more information, we can help better.
ThanksJanuary 4, 2020 at 10:02 am #523977Hi Guust – yes, I had a look at that, but it’s not obvious how I edit them and I’m worried about spending $100 on beaver/elementor without confirming this meets our needs.
Here’s the URL of the page with the issues:
http://youthfootballpages.com/?gd_place=test-2I’m not sure why the archives/meta links are appearing. I’d also like to remove the author bit.
I also added a couple of new fields via the Places > Settings > Custom Fields page – but they aren’t appearing in either the front end or even the back end ‘add new place’.
January 4, 2020 at 10:17 am #523978There is no need for beaver/elementor.
To edit the shortcodes: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/shortcode-builder/You need to set permalinks to “postname”.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/permalinks/#settingsYou have added the “Meta” widget to the GD Top widget area.
Make sure to set custom fields to “active” if you want them to appear on the Add Listing page.
Thanks
January 4, 2020 at 2:02 pm #524004Thanks for your help here. I think I’m making some progress. I’ve signed up for membership.
However, for some reason my event pages are no longer showing up… http://youthfootballpages.com/events/east-fife-2011s-festival/
Any idea what’s went wrong?
January 4, 2020 at 9:09 pm #524034Try re-saving permalinks as described here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/permalinks/#404
January 6, 2020 at 4:08 pm #524255Thanks, this worked! I am nearly there. My only issue now is the homepage seems to have an image that won’t go away. I have set the background to the blue image which can be seen at the bottom of http://youthfootballpages.com/
But the image of the map doesn’t seem to go away. Any ideas?
January 6, 2020 at 9:54 pm #524328Did you set the featured image for the page?
