I’ve tested my website http://www.brazilianjiutjitsu.ie ‘s page loading speed with https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ and it falls somewhere between the 70% – 80% mark on the desktop which I am happy with.
Unfortunately, the same pages are only getting around 5% mark for the Mobile version.
This is bad. Is this just an unfortunate reality of using the geodirectory with the supreme theme ? What steps can I take to try and improve my score on the mobile site?Steps I have currently taken
1. Shrinking all images to under 100kb
2. Using Plugin A3 lazy loader
3. Using Plugin Wp Super CacheI’m using Blacknight as my host here in Ireland and I’m pretty sure they’ve got a very good reputation for having fast server speed.
Here’s an example of my most recent post that’s scoring very low on mobile
https://brazilianjiujitsu.ie/northern-ireland-bjj-championships-2019/and attatched screenshots of the errors according to pagespeed insights,
I am no a techy, so is there any way to fix these errors as a lay man? Thanks for reading.
Warm Regards,

January 23, 2019 at 10:43 pm #465078In addition to WP Super Cache?
January 23, 2019 at 11:37 pm #465082Thanks for the suggestion, do you have any recommendations for this plug-in?
What should I toggle within the advanced settings?I’ve installed it and my mobile score is slightly up but still only at around 10%
January 23, 2019 at 11:41 pm #465083Never mind I’ve just seen the reccomended settings now.
January 24, 2019 at 11:19 am #465187Hi Shane,
If you can provide wp-admin and some sort of hosting login i will check all your settings and give suggestions.
The main ones just now are enable gzip compression on the server and the TTFB (time to first byte) which is usually the server spec, if u can link me to your hosting package details i’ll take a look.
Thanks,
Stiofan

I have done about as much as i can do, i have disabled 2 plugins i think u don;t need, i have never seen a use for a security plugin, it only adds time to your load times.
I would suggest you read the SATIRE piece about site speed: https://wpgeodirectory.com/making-your-wordpress-site-slow/
Ultimately i would recommend 3 things at this point:
1. Upgrade hosting to at least a VPS.
2. Make it linux not windows (less issues)
3. Enable gzip compression. Those 3 things will speed up your site.
