Hi support team,
as a loyal customer with prior multisite installation, I need a brief instruction how to migrate from geotheme to geodirectory!
My questions (I am sure I am not the only one) are:
1. Am I forced to install and setup the whole site new with a fresh database, or am I able to use existing database and add the GD framework and plugin to migrate?
2. Is there a tool available to make a data transfer from GT to GD possible?
3. If not, how am I able to export all data from GT to GD (posts, pages, media library, plugins, plugin settings, places, place categories, events, event categories, etc.)Please provide me with a brief instruction how to proceed further or use existing or suggested plugins for migration process!
Many thanks in advance,

The only ways at the moment are a bit messy but we are soon releasing a import/export feature for GD which should make it easier to import from any directory eventually. A sort of GT exporter would be needed but once the GD importer is completed then things should be a lot smother.
It all depends on your time frame and if you are willing to beta test on dev sites, things could move faster.
Thanks,
Stiofan
May 12, 2015 at 10:01 am #39281Hi Stiofan,
thanks getting back, may you remember me from former GT forum (gamma.worldcheckin.com).
1. Yes sure, put me on your beta list, but need to proceed furhter too!
So please provide me with some instructions to go the right way.2. If I use former GT database and delete GeoTheme Theme on my webspace and within the Database the entries of multicity, multiregion, multicountry files, would I then be able to proceed further with geodirectory using old database and not to be disturbed from old GT entries?
3. Post custom fields – what will happen with these former entries, are they usable within GD?
4. Place categories – what will happen with these former entries, are they usable within GD?
5. Event categories – what will happen with these former entries, are they usable within GD?
6. Managed Prices – what will happen with these former entries, are they usable within GD?

AlexJune 23, 2015 at 8:07 am #43342Hi support team,
as I am now trying to use my old database (allmost 80 plugins with lot of data & design settings) from former GT version to use this for the new GD version (would be a nightmare to start from new).
I need to know which database tables I need to truncate to ensure a proper new setup of GeoDirectory?
• about database tables “terms”, “term_taxonomy” and “term_relationships”
I found out that these database tables have lot of former GT data included, but are not displayed within GD. So how to enable these or do I need to truncate all and setup new?• IMPORTANT
Please advice which database tables do I need to refresh to enable a proper usage of old GT database switched to usability for GDThanks for your advice
AlexAugust 10, 2015 at 5:22 am #48807I’d like to migrate from GeoTheme to GeoDirectory. Can someone tell me how to do this?
August 10, 2015 at 10:14 am #48813Hi, as far I know, you only could request this by voting in the function requests of geodirectory page “GT to GD convertion tool”. The more votes, the more they would create this function.
Regards, Alex
