If I manually create a new listing and enter the full address into street line 1 it is able to ping the address and put the correct location details into the other city/region/zip/lat/long fields which is great.

However, this isn’t the same behaviour for the IMPORT CSV — I have entered them all into street address line 1 instead of separating them out for city/region/country/zip etc and the import fails.

Please see the attached import file on the next post for more details.

Is there any way to get my listings to import?

You will need to separate the address parts into their appropriate columns

    Hi Alex,

I’ve managed to import the listings with locations over.

As there are some inconsistancies with how we’ve written the addresses, we’re having to go onto each one and click the “Set Address on Map” button which returns the proper correct address.

Is there a way to automatically run this function for all existing listings? I have 500 to do in this import batch and it’s going to be a big pain one by one. Like in GD > Status > Tools we have the ‘Fix duplicate location’ it would be great if there was one for ‘Fix geolocation data’ which we can run after doing an import.

You can import without lat lon to get the same result.

    Hi Alex,

I did import without the lat/long info.

Not all of my addresses have been entered perfectly, some capitalisation issues, street line 1 + 2 entered the wrong way round, amongst other things so I have to do the “set address on map” for each listing to return the perfectly correct information – as per GMap.

Instead of manually doing this for each listing, is there a way I can run this across all existing listings to update the geolocation data?

    Thanks.

Sorry to disappoint, but, importing is the only bulk option for that.

The original data should have been split into the separate columns. Try deleting the listings and giving that a try.
