V1 was superb, excellent, easy to use and easy to resolve. V2 is NOT!!! PLEASE keep V1 for the many, many of us who enjoy and understand it. PLEASE!!!
I had my site cloned to a landing site. I did my conversion there and nothing looked the same. I read all of your directions, viewed all of your tutorials and little made sense to me. I had no idea I would have to totally rebuild my site. I did hire one of your experts. He was extremely polite and helpful but as it turns it there were some real issues and it would take many hours to get it back to how it looked.
He did find a bug and suggested I create a ticket for your team to investigate. As he was putting the finishing touches on the Archive Item template, he found that the featured field (among others) is not saving as it should.
Additionally, I have both Places and Events on my site. The conversions to V2 let Events convert to the Details page pretty good (sidebar and tabs). It did NOT convert Places quite as well with misses on the tabs and sidebars. Many tabs and sidebar items are not showing. I can not find the reason for Events to convert and Places not to.
The Widgets on V1 were very easy to use. Many gave choices for either Places or Events. You always knew how things would work. That is now gone. The Output Location widget makes no sense… how do you use it to show something in the middle of a page?? Widgets are used for sidebars, aren’t they? The tutorials don’t explain this clearly.
What happened to the Listing Slider widget? It was an advertising bonus for my site.
The Category CPT no longer works and on and on and on. Can you PLEASE KEEP V1? PLEASE!!
May 2, 2019 at 1:33 pm #484152Hello,
I have found it helpful to think about it like this:
In V1 the widget areas like GD Sidebar Top where like ‘containers’ and you dropped in the functionality as widgets.
In V2, the templates and pages are the containers, and you drop in shortcodes. If you have an advanced theme builder you can drop in widgets, too, so it even feels similar to V1 except there are many more ways to arrange things than with V1.
We would be happy to look at the issues you mention. Please write back with a private reply that includes WP Admin credentials. Do be sure to include some rehash of the issue with a links so we can check each item that is still an issue.

If it is included in the price package, it will be ‘checked’; excluded it will be ‘unchecked’. If that is not the case on your site please tell us which CPT is misbehaving and we will check it.
2. I will pick out the logo. You can use GD Post Images in the sidebar to show Only the Logo, as described here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/images/#custom-images
3. To make a new front page you can see a guide here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/getting-started/front/
I cannot open the site, it doesn’t load. Please check the URL and login details.

Please share FTP or CPanel so we can look into the issue with the address fields, and the listing data not saving.

It looks like v1 to v2 conversion was broken due to identical field names. I checked in database and there was another field with name “city”.
I have fixed it on your site. In next release we will update conversion process to prevent this issue due to identical field names.
Thanks,
KiranMay 13, 2019 at 4:06 pm #486173Thank you for addressing this issue. My other concern in the same post (5/7/19) has still not been fixed.
Details Page has many issues: As identified in the previous screenshot attachment:
A.– The links at top of page do not display.
B.– It only shows three of the six tabs.
C. — The Sidebar only displays three items out of many more. The attachments (from previous post) show the differences between V1 and V2
May 13, 2019 at 4:26 pm #486176Hi kerry,
You have much more control over everything now.
A. Do you mean the breadcrumbs? We have removed our own breadcrumbs functionality as this is more theme territory. We do however support the Yoast breadcrumbs, this is usually added to your theme template.
B. The tabs are now drag and drop, you can have any info you want there, go to the CPT>Settings>Tabs. You can also put info inside other tabs if you make them sub items.
C. Again there are many ways to show things here, you can use the v1 way of adding it to the details sidebar output location in the field settings OR you can add individual items via widgets, you can use the GD > post meta, GD > Post images, post address etc…
You can also adjust everything on the actual details page via the Details page template, you can add/remove or move any info, v2 requires a little setup but is 100x more powerful and you can have any info anywhere 🙂
Thanks,
Stiofan
